Uses for Healing Cream

Cuts, Scrapes, Lacerations and Abrasions

These can be classified as injuries where there is a separation of the skin tissue as a result of minor accidents caused by sharp objects or a fall. Lacerations as a result of an accident that do not involve the face and measure less than 1/2 inch in length are fully treatable at home. A healing cream applied to the cut or laceration after washing will help prevent infection and scarring. A sterile bandage will keep the laceration clean. Daily application of the healing cream and a change of bandage will expedite the healing process. A cut is typically a wound caused by a sharp object. These wounds are usually minor.

Burns

Minor first degree burns can be treated with healing creams. Burns can form after contact with a hot beverage, grease, too much sun and even friction. Minor burn are sensitive, red and sometimes swollen. They require a gentle washing followed by the application of a first aid cream two to three times a day. A sterile dressing will keep the antiseptic cream in place.

Chafing

An abrasion is a wound that is caused by friction. Signs of a friction wound are typically missing skin and minimal bleeding. These wounds are typically of a minor nature. While chafed skin seems like a minor irritation, it can become annoying. Dry chafed skin happens when your skin constantly rubs against skin or other materials, like your clothing. Over time, this friction makes your skin peel or even bleed. If you frequently experience chafing from athletic activities it is recommended to treat the skin in advance with a healing cream.

Fungal Infections and Rashes

Healing creams are ideal for healing fungal infections and rashes from microscopic organisms that invade the skin. The antibacterial and anti fungal properties in antiseptic creams help to kill the organisms and prevents skin irritations and rashes from spreading. The skin requires a gentle cleaning with soap and water and the application of an antiseptic cream twice daily until the rash goes away.
